Carolina Ballet’s family extends beyond the stage to include a large community of dedicated and generous volunteers. Each volunteer is an integral part of our continuing success.
Become a
VOLUNTEER!
Volunteer opportunities exist throughout the year with flexible and open hours. Carolina Ballet has many areas where you can enrich your life and help meet the company’s needs. Whether you can donate your time on a regular basis or only occasionally, we invite you to put your own interests, special skills and talents to work in the vibrant atmosphere of this world-class dance company. Volunteering with Carolina Ballet provides a wonderful introduction to the world of professional ballet as well as an opportunity to have fun and meet other ballet enthusiasts. Your involvement offers a rich experience with many benefits in appreciation of your dedication and expertise. Volunteerism is an incredible gift of one’s self, and without this gift to our organization, we would not succeed.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas below:
-
Administrative volunteers serve in various roles at the Carolina Ballet studio during business hours. All skill levels are welcome to help in any department with general clerical duties such as research, database entry, filing, phone calls, photocopying, mailing, writing, archiving, editing, and information systems technology. One can volunteer on an occasional basis for special projects or on a weekly basis.
-
Appear and perform as a cast extra or help keep rehearsals running smoothly. There are opportunities associated with auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
-
Go behind the scenes and see how the magic happens. Help the Wardrobe Department at the studio or backstage during performances by assisting with basic sewing, mending and altering of costumes. If that does not suit your tastes, then help dancers who have quick costume changes. Must be at least 18 years of age to work in this area and subject to approval by the Costume Director.
This requires a commitment to work the entire production run, including dress rehearsal.
-
Immerse yourself in the culture of dance and help us spread the word about our world-class ballet company. Help implement the company’s marketing initiatives through promotional and sales campaigns at community events, social media platforms, etc.
-
Assist with planning, coordination, and staging of special events during the season.
