Sokvannara Sar is from Cambodia. He was a Cambodian traditional professional dancer since age 12. Began western Ballet at age 16 at The School of American Ballet. Joined Pacific Northwest Ballet in 2006. Prior to joining Carolina Ballet in 2011, and while with the company, Sar has participated and appeared as guest artist with Suzanne Farrell Ballet, St Louis Ballet, Larry Keigwin dance troupe, Vail International Dance Festival, International Dance Salad, and many others. Featured and favorite roles: Prodigal Son, Oberon, Frankenstein, Romeo & Juliet, Fancy Free, Blue Bird, Rubies, Flower Festival, Mopey, and many others. Sar is The Subject of a dance documentary film “ Dancing Across Borders.”
