Sofia Rose Peetoom was born and raised in Pembroke Pines, FL. She started ballet at the International Dance Academy in Weston, FL when she was three years old. During that time she completed Royal Academy of Dance examinations, and was awarded Distinction for all levels. Sofia Rose was able to attend summer intensives at the Sarasota Ballet, School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Miami City Ballet. She continued her training under the direction of Peter Boal at Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division for two years before joining Carolina Ballet as an Apprentice in 2020. She was promoted to Corps de Ballet in 2021 and promoted to soloist in 2025.
