Keira Segars was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and began her ballet training at The Raleigh School of Ballet at age six. For five consecutive years, she performed children’s roles in Carolina Ballet’s The Nutcracker. At age 14, she continued her training at the School of Carolina Ballet under the direction of Zalman Raffael and Jan Burkhard. In 2023, Segars joined the school’s Pre-Professional program, where she had opportunities to perform with Carolina Ballet as a student. She furthered her training through multiple summers at Carolina Ballet and in summer programs at the School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre, and Boston Ballet School. In 2025, Segars became an apprentice with Carolina Ballet.
