Garrett Wooten was born in San Diego, California, and began his ballet training at age 15 at Lynch Dance Institute. At 17, he moved away from San Diego to train for two years in Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division under the direction of Peter Boal, graduating in 2023. In addition to his year-round training, Wooten attended summer intensives at Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Ballet Austin. In the fall of 2023, Wooten was offered an apprenticeship with Carolina Ballet for the 2023-24 season, and after a few months, was promoted to the Corps de Ballet. Garrett Wooten is currently a member of the Carolina Ballet Corps de Ballet.
