Elye Bailey was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and began his professional ballet training at the Baltimore School for the Arts. He continued his studies at Ballet Academy East in New York City under the mentorship of Darla Hoover, where he was awarded the prestigious David Howard Scholarship from the David Howard Foundation. Elye attended numerous acclaimed summer programs on full scholarships, including the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet summer intensive. Elye joined Carolina Ballet as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2022 and was promoted to soloist in 2025.
