Candace Bowden was born in York, Pennsylvania and she started her dance training at age 3. She attended Greater Dover Dance Academy, Susquehanna Dance Center, and Pennsylvania Regional Ballet. At age 14 she decided to continue her ballet studies at the prestigious School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet. Candace trained under the care of Jennifer Ringer, Jonathan Stafford, Kay Mazzo, Suki Schorer, and Aesha Ash until she was 18 years old. During her high school years at SAB, she performed featured roles in various ballets including “Divertimento No. 15,” “Tchaikovsky Pas De Deux,” and Sleeping Beauty’s “Bluebird.” Alongside performing, Candace also enjoys choreographing and was a featured choreographer in the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation during 2025-2026. Candace Bowden attended 3 summers with Carolina Ballet and performed featured roles in Zalman Raffael’s “Swan Lake” and “Labyrinth” before joining the company as an apprentice in 2026.
