Joined Carolina Ballet 2008

Sean Armstrong began his training at the age of 10 at the Classical Ballet Center under the tutelage of Terry Ellen-Shields, in his home town of Summerville, South Carolina. At age 14 he was accepted into the North Carolina School of the Arts, where he continued his training for his freshman and sophomore years of high school. After attending the Houston Ballet Academy’s summer intensive for two summers, he was offered a partial scholarship to attend their year-round program. After dancing for three years at the Houston Ballet Academy, Mr. Armstrong returned to South Carolina, to dance for Columbia City Ballet, where he has performed the roles of Ebenezer Scrooge, in their production of Scrooge, and the Friday’s Child Pas de Trois in their Beauty and the Beast. He is an apprentice with Carolina Ballet, after attending their UNC Wilmington summer residency for the past two years.
